Barkerville

 

Barkerville, where Billy Barker made his famous strike, is where the 1860s come alive, and visitors can follow the Gold Rush Trail and even pan for gold. The town of Wells, close to Barkerville, is named for Fred Wells who discovered the richest hardrock gold deposits in the Cariboo. Over the years, the town has become well known as a unique arts community.
