Charming Grace with a Dynamic City VibeA spectacular 90-minute BC Ferries voyage from the Mainland, Victoria feels like a world away. British Columbia’s capital, located at the southern tip of Vancouver Island, is a jam-packed little city with huge ambience. The location alone can’t be beat. Set on the sparkling Strait of Juan de Fuca, surrounded by water with views of the Olympic Mountains, it’s hard not to be taken in by Victoria’s charms.
There’s plenty of excitement going on behind the city’s grand exterior, too. Housed in the historic buildings that make up Victoria’s walkable downtown core are nationally acclaimed restaurants, trendy boutiques and lively pubs. While afternoon tea is still a tradition that’s not to be missed, there’s much more to this vibrant city – from the explosion of colour and texture at the Victoria Butterfly Gardens to the thrill of an afternoon spent whale watching.
Whether you use your time window-shopping along Government Street, exploring the Inner Harbour and the stately Parliament Building, or checking out the IMAX National Geographic Theatre at the Royal BC Museum, Victoria is a dynamic city that’s sure to impress.
