This incredible small-group experience provides an enlightening journey through the history and culture of BC’s coastal First Nations, while also bringing you face-to-face with the BC coast’s most iconic animals and landscapes. During the breathtaking trip up the coast to X?a??wika?n (Thompson Sound), your First Nations guide will point out bald eagles overhead, Pacific white-sided dolphins alongside the boat and even wolves roaming the beaches. Continuing along the Xakwikan River, you’ll be treated to traditional stories as you witness the awe-inspiring sight of grizzly bears fishing for wild salmon. The final leg of the trip passes historic Gwayasdams on Gilford Island en route to Broughton Archipelago and Queen Charlotte Strait, where humpback whales are a common sight.
