Britannia Mine Museum Special
A multi-million dollar make-over transformed this historic mine into a multi-award winning museum and National Historic Site. Less than a hundred years ago, this was the largest copper mine in the British Empire. Today, the Britannia Mine Museum opens up a little-seen world that fascinates all ages. Just like miners, families don hardhats then climb aboard an underground train and into the past century. Entertaining guides provide hands on demonstrations and stories of a once bustling community. Site includes “Groundbreaking” film, touchscreen exhibits, displays of rare minerals, visual history of the area, gift shop and unique opportunity to pan-for-gold.
