Tsawwassen

Tsawwassen, which means “looking towards the sea” in Coast Salish, is a residential community 20 minutes south of Vancouver. This suburban seaside community runs alongside the US border and beside the Pacific Ocean. With its strong First Nations heritage, it offers many historic sites and museums. Nature-wise, it offers the shallow waters of Boundary Bay, a haven for windsurfers, cyclists, joggers and walkers, along with migrating birds that draw ornithologists and birdwatchers from all parts of the world. Metro Vancouver’s only waterslide is in Tsawwassen: Splashdown Park is open from June to September, and is very popular with families. The gentle, rolling hills are perfect for farmlands and golf courses, and Tsawwassen has driving ranges and disc golf, along with full 18-hole courses.
