Day 1

Day 1 - Vancouver to Campbell River

Ferry: West Vancouver (Horseshoe Bay) to Nanaimo (Departure Bay)

Departing from Horseshoe Bay on the mainland, enjoy a scenic 100-minute cruise across the Strait of Georgia to the shores of Vancouver Island and the city of Nanaimo. As you drive north on the coastal route, you’ll pass through the seaside resort communities of Qualicum Beach and Parksville, and by the historic Old Country Market at Coombs, which is famous for the goats that graze on the roof. Arriving in the seaside town of Campbell River, you will check in to Painter’s Lodge, where you can spend the rest of the day and evening enjoying the surroundings and the resort’s amenities.


Day 2

Day 2 - Campbell River

The day is yours to relax in the hotel, explore the marina, or head out to the surrounding area to go golfing, hiking or skiing. You could also take a day trip to Strathcona Park, Mount Washington Ski Resort, Discovery Islands or Quadra Island. Or you could go on a bear-watching tour, try stock car racing, visit a salmon hatchery or go scuba diving in the Discovery Passage.


Day 3

Day 3 - Campbell River to Vancouver

Ferry: Nanaimo (Departure Bay) to West Vancouver (Horseshoe Bay)

Spend the morning relaxing in the resort or by the ocean, or explore the natural surroundings. After you check out, make your way south down the island, through Qualicum Beach and Parksville, and to Nanaimo. From there, take a scenic 100-minute ferry ride across the Strait of Georgia to arrive at Horseshoe Bay.
