Day 1

Day 1 - Vancouver to Port Albeni

Ferry: West Vancouver (Horseshoe Bay) to Nanaimo (Departure Bay)

The day starts with gorgeous coastal scenery gliding by during your sailing across the Strait of Georgia to Vancouver Island. From the Departure Bay ferry terminal, a drive along the coast and through majestic temperate rainforests leads to China Creek Campground in Port Alberni. After arriving and setting up camp, take some time to explore and immerse yourself in the pristine environment. Walk along historic China Creek and through the lush ancient rainforest. Gaze at the idyllic water views from the beach. End the day with dinner cooked on the campfire, accompanied by a few peaceful evening cocktails.

Day 2

Day 2 - Port Alberni

Greet the morning with a fireside coffee and breakfast while you plan your day. Port Alberni offers activities for all tastes. Charter a boat and spend a day on the water fishing for coho, chinook, sockeye, prawns, halibut and rock cod. Take a walk to the nearby Alberni Inlet Trail. Go for an invigorating hike at Della Falls, Mount Arrowsmith Regional Park, Fossli Provincial Park or Stamp River Provincial Park. Day 3

Day 3 - Port Alberni to Vancouver

Ferry: Nanaimo (Departure Bay) to West Vancouver (Horseshoe Bay)

Make the most of your last day by starting with a peaceful walk on the beach while the sun burns off the morning mist. Go on a whale-watching or wildlife viewing tour. Glide along the rocky shoreline and coves of Alberni Inlet in a kayak, stopping at Cous Creek or Underwood Cove. Play a round of golf at one of the local courses. Then you’ll be ready for the drive back to the Departure Bay ferry terminal for your scenic return sailing to Metro Vancouver.
