April Point Resort & Spa Quadra Island 2 nights

**Please note April Point fishing packages are ONLY available from May until September

The April Point Resort, which started as a fishing camp in the 1940s, has since evolved into a glorious oceanfront retreat that’s been modernized without losing its original historic charm. Guests can take on BC’s mighty salmon, or just get away from it all. Each room offers an ocean view and beautiful decor. The Oceanfront Restaurant and Sushi Bar offers world-class West Coast cuisine, focusing on seafood and pasta dishes with a unique fresh sushi bar. The large dining room features ocean views from every table, and outdoor dining on the wraparound sundeck. After dinner, guests can relax in the cozy fireside lounge in the main lodge.

The resort also offers the Aveda Concept Spa, which is set in the manicured gardens of the resort on the shores of Discovery Passage, in the centre of a tranquil pool. Housed in a Japanese-inspired building, the spa combines stunning views with the Aveda philosophy of relaxation. It offers a wide variety of treatments and options.

The resort is on the largest and most populated of the Discovery Islands. From Quadra Island to downtown Campbell River, it is only a 10-minute BC Ferries trip. Nestled between Vancouver Island and the mainland, Quadra is best known for its scenery and excellent salmon and freshwater sport fishing. But the island also offers diving, hiking, mountain biking, sea kayaking and year-round culture and wildlife viewing. Rolling forested hills offer over 200 kilometres of hiking trails, and mountain bikers have countless back roads and trails to ride. The nearby inlets provide access to the vast Coast Range, one of the world's greatest mountain wilderness areas. The First Nations residents and global migrants together create a harmonious community rich in art and culture.

Or, for a faster but less scenic route, you can take the Island Highway (Highway 19) to Campbell River. If you have the time, visit the sandy beachfront communities of Parksville and Qualicum Beach and explore Campbell River and the Comox Valley. In Campbell River, take your second sailing of the day across Discovery Passage to Quadra Island. This 10-minute voyage brings you into Quathiaski Cove. From there, it’s just a short drive until you’re at the front desk of the resort. After you check in, you can go on an adventure or just relax and unwind.

Day 2

900 April Point Road, Quathiaski Cove, BC, Canada, V0P 1N0

Today, you’ll set off from the Painter's Lodge Resort in a 17-foot Boston Whaler to fish the waters of Discovery Passage with an experienced guide. The guides, BC salmon fishing experts, have a vast knowledge of the region and a deep respect for the sport. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced angler, your guide can set the hooks, offer new tips and techniques, and help you reel in the catch. Discovery Passage is an angler’s dream, thanks to a wealth of eddies, backwaters, islands and inlet tidal currents where salmon naturally gather. The guides know the hot spots, and plan the ideal outing for fishing enthusiasts of all ages and experience levels.

Day 3

Day 3 - Quadra Island to Vancouver

Ferry: Nanaimo (Departure Bay) to West Vancouver (Horseshoe Bay)
Ferry: Quadra Island (Quadra Island) to Campbell River (Campbell River)

The Centre opened in 1979 to house the returned portion of the Potlatch Collection of sacred ceremonial objects and cedar bark regalia, which were used in Kwagiulth winter ceremonies. During your return journey to Vancouver, you can stop en route at the many communities and beaches along the way.
