The trip from Vancouver Island to Metro Vancouver is always a pleasant experience as the ferry weaves through tranquil waters, past the Gulf Islands and across the Strait of Georgia. After arriving at Tsawwassen, a short drive brings you to the Pacific Gateway Hotel at Vancouver Airport, where you can check in and let the relaxation begin. Enjoy the views of the Fraser River and nearby marina as you sit down for a meal at the on-site Pier 73 Restaurant. Later, head out for some shopping and sightseeing.

Day 2

Day 2 - Richmond to Vancouver Island

Ferry: Vancouver (Tsawwassen) to Victoria (Swartz Bay)

It’s worth waking up early in Richmond, a city that easily keeps even the most energetic visitors busy. History, arts and culture aficionados can immerse themselves in the Britannia Heritage Shipyard and a plethora of galleries and studios. Sporty types will love running the Stanley Park Seawall, mountain biking on the North Shore or aiming for a personal best on the Grouse Grind. An incredible array of international restaurants will delight the palates of culinary connoisseurs. Ambitious guests might even take a drive up the Sea to Sky Highway to spend part of the day in Squamish or Whistler. Or, if you prefer a more relaxed pace, pass the time with a quiet coffee at one of the many unique neighbourhood cafés before driving back to Tsawwassen for the scenic return ferry to Vancouver Island.
