Day 1

Day 1 - Vancouver to Tofino

Ferry: West Vancouver (Horseshoe Bay) to Nanaimo (Departure Bay)

The journey from Vancouver to Tofino is a crash course in coastal BC geography. A beautiful cruise across the Strait of Georgia and among the Gulf Islands is followed by a cross-Island drive that passes by ancient forests, including MacMillan Provincial Park and Cathedral Grove, before arriving in the vibrant coastal community of Tofino. Spend your afternoon visiting the local shops and cafes, exploring Pacific Rim National Park Reserve or taking a surf lesson on Long Beach. Close out the day at the 1909 Kitchen with a dinner of innovative West Coast specialties and maybe a pint or two of local beer.

Day 2

Day 2 - Tofino

Staying at: Tofino Resort and Marina (Standard Queen Room)

You have a full day at your disposal, so take advantage of one of the Adventure Centre’s offerings and immerse yourself in your stunning coastal surroundings.  Spend the day experiencing Tofino’s world-famous fishing for cod, halibut, salmon and tuna. Get an exhilarating close-up view of marine life including sea lions, otters and porpoises, and grey, humpback and killer whales. Feed your spirit with a boat ride followed by a hike through an old-growth forest and a rejuvenating soak in hot springs fed by geothermal waterfalls. Cruise the waters of Clayoquot Sound looking for coastal bears, bald eagles, blue herons and other wildlife

Day 3

Day 3 - Tofino to Vancouver

Ferry: Nanaimo (Departure Bay) to West Vancouver (Horseshoe Bay)

Start your last day at the 1909 Kitchen with a delicious breakfast while gazing out at the idyllic waterfront vistas. Spend the rest of the morning browsing the work of local artists in Tofino’s eclectic collection of studios and galleries. Then take a walk down to one of the secluded beaches to admire the power of the Pacific Ocean before setting off back across the Island for your ferry sailing back to Metro Vancouver.
