After a night at the Delta Victoria Ocean Pointe Resort, make your way up the Island towards the small-town seaside charm of Qualicum Beach.  Qualicum Beach is famous for the Qualicum Cheese Factory and other great attractions in the area such as, Horne Lake Caves.  After a couple days in Qualicum Beach, make your way along the coastal highway towards your ferry from Nanaimo to Vancouver.

Day 1

Day 1 - Vancouver to Victoria

Ferry: Vancouver (Tsawwassen) to Victoria (Swartz Bay)

Depart from the Tsawwassen ferry terminal on a scenic 95-minute BC Ferries voyage across the Strait of Georgia and past the Gulf Islands to Victoria. After arriving at the Swartz Bay ferry terminal on Vancouver Island, enjoy views of the Olympic Mountains and the Strait of Juan de Fuca as you travel south along the Saanich Peninsula. On your way into town, you can stop in at the Shaw Ocean Discovery Centre, Victoria Butterfly Gardens or Butchart Gardens (admission not included). After checking in, spend the rest of the day enjoying the hotel’s amenities, perhaps a thrilling 3-hour whale watching tour with Orca Spirit Whale Watching Adventures (admission not included) or explore the British-style cities cobblestone streets and shops.

 

The Delta Victoria Ocean Pointe Resort & Spa is only a 5-minute walk (or a short ride on a Victoria Harbour Ferry) from downtown, and puts you at the door of many attractions. Day 2

Day 2 - Victoria to Qualicum Beach

Make your way north on Vancouver Island towards Qualicum Beach. Enjoy the scenic 3.5-hour drive along the coastline.  You will want to make some stops along the way such as, the Kinsol Tressels or the town of Chemainus. Chemainus known for its creative community, which is evident in the 40 plus vivid murals scatted around town that depict its culture and history.

Day 3

Day 3 - Qualicum Beach

Following breakfast, stop by Qualicum Beach Museum and Historical Society, where curator Graham Beard's range of fascinating fossils are on show. Then take the time to explore Little Qualicum Falls Provincial Park, a picturesque location for a picnic. Adventure awaits at Horne Lake Caves Provincial Park, where 5 hour spelunking tours are available for thrill-seekers. Or, enjoy a more relaxing day wandering through the many boutiques and galleries that dot this compact town.

Day 4

Day 4 - Qualicum Beach to Vancouver

Ferry: Nanaimo (Departure Bay) to West Vancouver (Horseshoe Bay)

Wake up refreshed after a restful night and sample the breakfast menu at CView Restaurant. Take your time and explore Qualicum Beach’s town centre before departing for Departure Bay and your 100-minute ferry ride back to Vancouver.
